2026 Century Award honorees

Varsity head coaches who reached 100 victories, 200 victories, 300 victories or another Century "Milestone" number of coaching victories are to be recognized at the 2026 IBCA Clinic.

Valparaiso's Roger Powell Jr., Miami's Tricia Cullop, Bradley's Brian Wardle and three other college coaches are featured among eight speakers in a Thursday-Friday format.

IBCA initiative against cancer

Your contributions to support the fight against cancer are much appreciated. As our spring 2026 e-Newsletter goes “live,” with some schools not yet reporting, participating schools have reported raising $68,948.13.

Congratulations, champion and runner-up

Congratulations to the 2026 IHSAA state champion and state runner-up coaches. Sixteen coaches will be presented IBCA Awards named after Renee Turpa, Donna Sullivan, George Griffith or Steve Witty.

2025-26 Boys’ Coaches of the Year

Congratulations to the 2025-26 “Bob King Award” winners as Boys' Coaches of the Year -- Scott Radeker of Northridge, Andy Weaver of Plainfield and Heath Howington of Barr-Reeve.

2025-26 Girls’ Coaches of the Year

Congratulations to the 2025-26 “Bob King Award” winners as Girls' Coaches of the Year -- Andy Heim of Bellmont, Keith Hollins of Pike and Kevin Stuckmeyer of Center Grove.

2026 Assistant Coaches of the Year

Rob York of Greencastle, Ron Kahle of Gibson Southern and Bill Thomas of Fishers are the 2026 IBCA Assistant Coaches of the Year. This is the ninth year that the IBCA has presented awards in this category.

2026 PGC Transformational Coach Awards

Tommy Strine of Tri-West and Gretchen Miles of Washington are winners of the 2026 Point Guard College/Indiana Transformational Coach Awards as presented by the IBCA.

Witty, Gilbert named winners of 2026 Wooden Legacy Coaching Award

Former state champion coaches Steve Witty of Ben Davis and Cheri Gilbert of Heritage were recognized as the Indiana honorees for 2025-26 in the John Wooden Legacy Coaching Award program.

2026 Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Awards

Congratulations to the 2026 winners of the IBCA Virgil Sweet Distinguished Service Awards -- Greg Humnicky of South Bend, Jerry “Rocky” Kenworthy of Clayton and Joe Ammerman of North Vernon.

2026 Administrators of the Year

Congratulations to the 2026 Administrators of the Year – Logansport athletic director Brian Strong, Fishers athletic director Jim Brown and Charlestown athletic director Chad Gilbert.

2026 IBCA Senior and Underclass Boys All-State

Fifteen seniors and 15 underclass players were chosen “Supreme 15,” 17 more seniors and 16 more underclass players were chosen Large School All-State, and 16 more seniors and 15 more underclass players were chosen Small School All-State in the IBCA All-State program for boys for the 2025-26 season. In addition, 97 seniors and 93 underclass players received Honorable Mention All-State accolades.

2026 IBCA Senior and Underclass Girls All-State

Fifteen seniors and 15 underclass players were chosen “Supreme 15,” 15 more seniors and 15 more underclass players were chosen Large School All-State, and 15 more seniors and 15 more underclass players were chosen Small School All-State in the IBCA All-State program for girls for the 2025-26 season. In addition, 95 seniors and 95 underclass players received Honorable Mention All-State accolades.

2026 boys’ Academic All-State

Forty-five players were chosen as first-team selections on the IBCA 2026 boys' individual Academic All-State Team. An additional 238 players were selected as honorable mention Academic All-State.

2026 girls’ Academic All-State

Forty-three players were chosen as first-team selections on the IBCA 2026 girls' individual Academic All-State Team. An additional 184 players were selected as honorable mention Academic All-State.

IBCA Team Academic Award

128 teams -- 29 boys' teams and 99 girls' teams -- earned a 2026 Team Academic Award, a new IBCA award created this year to recognize excellence on the court and in the classroom by Indiana high school basketball programs.

IBCA Players of the Week

Ninety-five student-athletes were named IBCA Players of the Week during the 2025-26 season. Those selected – 51 boys and 44 girls – will receive a certificate of recognition of their honor from the IBCA.

IBCA/Ballogy Team of the Week honorees

Fifty-eight teams were named IBCA/Ballogy Team of the Week during the 2025-26 season. Coaches of the teams selected – 35 boys’ teams and 23 girls’ teams – each will receive a certificate of recognition of their honor from the IBCA.

Indiana All-Stars By Mike Broughton

All-Star week for 2026 includes five doubleheaders in seven days -- Juniors vs. Kentucky Juniors on May 31, Futures Games on June 1, Juniors vs. Seniors on June 3, Seniors at Kentucky Seniors on June 5 and Seniors vs. Kentucky in Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 6.

Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame By Matt Martin

Just like history being made on the hardwood, the Hall of Fame continues to showcase the history of Indiana basketball. Our expansion -- which opened in December 2024 -- has been welcomed with open arms and has had rave reviews. Admission is free to the New Castle museum.

Basketball Camp Insurance

If you are a current-year IBCA member, you have $2 million General Liability insurance through our affiliation with the National Organization of Coaches Association Directors. This insurance covers you in the classroom or while working at youth sports camps and/or conducting your own personal camp.

IBCA/IHSAA summer individual & team events

Underclass Showcase individual Top 100 events are set for June 12 (boys at Ben Davis) and June 18 (girls at Ben Davis). In addition, the fourth girls’ Summer Team Showcase is planned for June 19-20 at Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern and the seventh boys’ Summer Team Showcase in memory of Charlie Hughes is set for June 26-28 at Carmel and Westfield.

Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 60 Senior Workouts By Kip Wesner

Sixty of Indiana’s best class of 2026 senior boys’ and senior girls’ high school players were invited to participate in Hoosier Basketball’s 2026 Top 60 Senior Workouts. The boys' event is April 12. The girls' event was March 8.

Career coaching records

The IBCA long has featured a "Coaches Club" in the annual boys’ basketball Record Book. The current boys’ Coaches Club includes 1,383 coaches with 100 or more victories. The current girls’ Coaches Club includes 614 coaches with 100 or more victories.

IBCA to release 2026 Record Books, boys and girls

The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association is pleased to announce the 47th edition of the Indiana High School Record Book for boys’ basketball and the inaugural edition for girls’ basketball.
