From the Executive Director

My advice to coaches has always been, “Don’t follow a Legend.” So what do I do? I follow a guy who is a legend with a capital L. It has been an honor to work closely with Steve Witty over the past 20 years, and I will make every attempt to continue the progress that the five previous Executive Directors before me have established.

As we start another chapter of “Hoosier Hysteria,” I want to encourage you to join the IBCA. Head coaches, please be a positive mentor and friend and make sure all your coaches – from elementary to high school – are members. Each IBCA active-coach member receives a $2 million liability insurance policy. This is an invaluable tool that every coach must have before they step on the court. I firmly believe that the coaching profession has never been more important to our society or our young people than it is today. Dr. Billy Graham once stated, “One coach will impact more young people in a year than the average person does in a lifetime.” Be that coach!
