IBCA/IHSAA summer individual & team events

Underclass Showcase events set for June 19 (girls) and June 20 (boys); boys' Summer Team Tournament planned for June 26-28.

Returning for 2020: ‘Underclass Showcase’ events for boys and girls

The 18th annual IBCA/IHSAA Underclass Showcase events (also known as “The Top 100”) will be June 19 for girls and June 20 for boys, both at Ben Davis High School.

These are “individual events,” and players featured are rising seniors, juniors and sophomores for 2020-21.

The IBCA/IHSAA Girls’ Basketball Underclass Showcase will be held at Ben Davis High School on Friday, June 19. The IBCA/IHSAA Boys’ Basketball Underclass Showcase will be held at Ben Davis High School on Saturday, June 20. Registration for both events will be at 1:30 p.m., and both events will begin at 2 p.m.

All IBCA coaches will be admitted free to both events by displaying a current IBCA membership card.

Lists of players expected to participate in these events should be released publically about three weeks before each event.

Back for 2020: ‘Summer Team Tournament’ for boys

The IBCA/IHSAA will host a scholastic team event for boys’ teams for the second time in 2020 – the IBCA/IHSAA Team Showcase in memory of Charlie Hughes. It will be held on June 26-27-28. Carmel is the primary site, with North Central and Westfield as additional sites. This event is a part of the IBCA calendar to take advantage of the NCAA’s “scholastic event evaluation period” in June for men’s prospects.

There NCAA does not have a corresponding time for women’s prospects. If the NCAA creates a June evaluation period for women’s prospects in the future, the IBCA may add a Summer Team Tournament for girls to its offerings at that time.
