30th annual North/South Indiana All-Star Classic at Martinsville

Hoosier Basketball Magazine announces that the 30th annual North/South Indiana All-Star Classic will be held Saturday, April 7, at the John R. Wooden Gymnasium in Martinsville.
Forty-eight of Indiana’s best boys’ and girls’ senior players will participate in this annual statewide doubleheader. The girls’ game starts at 5 p.m. with the boys’ game to follow at 7 p.m. The North/South Indiana All-Star Classic is sponsored by Martinsville High School, Hoosier Basketball Magazine and Pacesetter Sports in Terre Haute.
Twenty-four girls will compete in the first half of this doubleheader, including 10 players who have been named to the 2018 Indiana All-Star team. The boys’ game features three future Big Ten basketball players as well as the state’s leading scorer.
Five Indiana All-Stars highlight the North Girls’ squad. They include Leigha Brown of DeKalb, Emily Kiser of Noblesville, Jenasae Bishop of East Chicago Central, Cassidy Hardin of Center Grove and Tomi Taiwo of Carmel. The South girls include Angel Baker of Pike, Kayana Traylor of Martinsville, Mackenzie Blazek of Whiteland, Anna Newman of Evansville North and Michaela White of Pike.
The North boys are led by two future Big Ten rivals — Purdue-bound Eric Hunter of Tindley and IU recruit Damezi Anderson of South Bend Riley. The North team also includes Jack Hansen of Guerin Catholic, Jamal Harris of Indianapolis Attucks and Myja White of Brebeuf Jesuit.
The South boys feature Michigan State-signee Aaron Henry of Ben Davis plus Mekhi Lairy of Class 3A state runner-up Evansville Bosse and Hayden Langkabel of Class A state champion Morristown. Others on the South team include Gavin Bizeau of Plainfield and De’Avion Washington of Terre Haute South.
The 2018 Classic game director is Martinsville athletic director Kip Staggs. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased by calling (765) 342-5571.
