Varsity coaching changes for 2011-12
From the end of last season through late September, 160 people have been hired as new varsity basketball coaches in Indiana high schools -- 78 to boys' basketball positions and 82 to girls' basketball positions -- for the 2011-12 season.
The number of changes is almost identical to the total of the 2010 off-season, but the total is well short of the 188 changes made in the spring and summer of 2007.
According to data compiled by HickoryHusker.com, here are the number of changes for the 13 years prior to the 2011 offseason: 2010 - 162; 2009 - 146; 2008 - 148; 2007 - 188; 2006 - 152; 2005 - 146; 2004 - 147; 2003 - 141; 2002 - 135; 2001 - 139; 2000 - 125; 1999 - 129; 1998 - 133.
