Roy Gardner Award

Don Nester

During his 38 year officiating career, Don has worked 28 sectional, 15 regionals, 6 semi-states and two boys and girls state finals. Don served as President of the Indiana officials Association (IOA) and as an IOA Executive Board member. He is currently the secretary of the IOA. Don has conducted many rules interpretation meetings and certification clinics throughout the state for the IHSAA. He has taught basketball and baseball officiating classes for over 20 years and has served as a basketball observer for the IHSAA. Don is a graduate of Cathedral High School and he attended Indiana and Vincennes Universities. He is a U. S. Army Viet Nam Veteran. He is employed by the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) as a supervisor for technology services. Congratulations Don for all you have done and continue to do for Indiana High School Basketball.
