James Dunlap

Besides having an outstanding officiating career, James could also play the game. He holds the total points scoring record (1128 career points) at Decker Chapel which is now part of South Knox High School.

James began officiating in 1967. During his 40 year career, he has worked 31 Sectionals, 25 Regionals, several Semi-States and three State finals. James has also officiated at the collegiate level and during his officiating career has officiated over 3000 games.

For 20 years James has taught a basketball officiating class at the University of Southern Indiana. He has been a rules interpreter to his local high school officials association and has served as an observer for the IHSAA.

James, with his wife of 47 years, Rita, are the parents of two children and have two grandchildren.
