Administrators of the Year

Michael E. Pettibone

Superintendent, Adams Central Community Schools

Michael is a graduate of Bluffton High School. He earned a B. S. in Elementary Education at Ball State and a M.S. in Elementary Education, Administrative License, ED.S & Superintendent’s license from Indiana University.

He began his teaching career in 1976 as a fourth grade teacher at Washington Elementary School in Plymouth Indiana. From 1977-1982 he taught Math at Lincoln Middle School in Plymouth and was the Varsity Assit. Baseball and Basketball coached two Hall of Famers Bill Nixon and Jack Edison.

He has held administrative positions as an elementary principal, middle school asst. Principal and a High School Principal before he became the Superintendent at Adams Central Community School in 2002.

He has been very active in Community organizations and has been recognized numerous times by professional organizations for his leadership as an educator.

Congratulations Mike. You have had an outstanding career.

Jerry Holifield

Superintendent, Plainfield Schools

Jerry earned his B. S. degree in Science, Health and Physical Education at Southeast Missouri State College. He also holds M. S. and Ed.S degrees from Butler University and an Ed.D in School Administration from Ball State University.

Jerry began his teaching career at Mulberry Grove Illinois where he taught science, physical education and coached basketball, baseball and track. During his administrative career he has been an Asst. Principal at Plainfield Schools, Principal at Carmel Jr. High, Director of Personnel Services at MSD Wayne Twp., Asst. Supt. Wayne Twp Schools and for the past 17 years Supt. Of Plainfield Schools.

Jerry has earned numerous state and local honors for his efforts as an educator. Through out his career, Jerry has attended many extracurricular events and community activities, but his wife Sherri might qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records for the most activities attended by a Superintendent’s spouse. After the awards ceremony here tonight Jerry and his Wife will be attending the Plainfield Prom.

Kendall Wildey

Principal, Jennings County High School

Kendall Wildey is serving his eighth year as principal of Jennings County High School. He has been an administrator in Jennings County for fifteen years. Kendall remains as the Executive Director of the Hoosier Basketball Coaches’ Association and has served in that role for eight years. Kendall’s varsity basketball coaching days were spent at Waldron High School (1987-1990), Rushville Consolidated High School (1990-1991), and Jennings County High School (1991-2000). During the three seasons at Waldron the Mohawks won all three Shelby County Championships. Under his helm of nine years at Jennings County, the Panthers won five sectionals, one regional and accumulated 125 victories.

Kendall is married to Sandy Wildey who is a music teacher at JCHS. They have three children, Alivia (19), Ariah (16), and Hunter (13). They are also guardians of Kamonica Howard (18), Shane Howard (16), and Landon Anthony (3).
