Underclass Showcase events are set for June 15 (girls at Ben Davis) and June 17 (boys at Brownsburg). In addition, the inaugural girls’ Summer Team Tournament is planned for June 16-17 at Hamilton Southeastern and Mt. Vernon (Fortville) and the annual boys’ Summer Team Tournament is set for June 23-25 at Carmel and Westfield.
Returning for 2023: ‘Underclass Showcase’ events for boys and girls
The 21st annual IBCA/IHSAA Underclass Showcase events (also known as “The Top 100”) are set for June 15 for girls at Ben Davis (1200 N. Girls School Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46214) and June 17 for boys at Brownsburg (1000 S. Odell St., Brownsburg, IN 46112). These are “individual events,” and players featured are rising seniors, juniors and sophomores for 2023-24.
The IBCA/IHSAA Girls’ Basketball Underclass Showcase is scheduled at Ben Davis High School on Thursday, June 15. The girls’ Showcase will be held with all players in one session. Check-in will be at 12:30 p.m. The session will run until about 4:30 p.m.
The IBCA/IHSAA Boys’ Basketball Underclass Showcase is scheduled at Brownsburg High School on Saturday, June 17. The boys’ Showcase will be run in two sessions with about 60 players in each. First-session check-in will be at 10:00 a.m., and the session will run until about 1:45 p.m. Second session check-in is at 2:00 p.m., and that session will run until about 5:45 p.m.
All IBCA coaches will be admitted free to both events by displaying a current IBCA membership card.
Lists of players expected to participate in these events should be released publicly about three weeks before each event.
New in 2023: ‘Summer Team Tournament’ for girls
The IBCA/IHSAA plans to host a scholastic team event for girls’ teams for the first time in 2023 – the IBCA/IHSAA Team Showcase with administrative assistance from Charlie Hughes Basketball.
This event is planned for June 16-17 with games at Hamilton Southeastern and Mt. Vernon (Fortville). Each team will play four games over two days (two games each day). This event most likely will be capped around 100 teams.

Back again in 2023: ‘Summer Team Tournament’ for boys
The IBCA/IHSAA plans to host a scholastic team event for boys’ teams again in 2023 – the IBCA/IHSAA Team Showcase in memory of Charlie Hughes. This year’s event is planned for June 23-24-25 with games at Carmel, Westfield and possibly other sites. The event included 132 teams in 2022.
