Some of the top players with returning high school eligibility in the state were invited to participate in the 19th annual IBCA/IHSAA Top 100 Underclass Showcase events in 2021 – the girls on June 18 and the boys on June 19. Both events, along with the 2021 IBCA/IHSAA Boys’ Team Showcase in memory of Charlie Hughes on June 25-27, were conducted, although some adjustments were made to go along with COVID-19 guidelines.
Plans are to continue these events in 2022.
- The 2022 IBCA/IHSAA Girls’ Top 100 Underclass Showcase is set for June 17 at Ben Davis. Jane Schott of West Lafayette serves as the director of the Girls’ Underclass Showcase.
- The 2022 IBCA/IHSAA Boys’ Top 100 Underclass Showcase is set for June 18 at Ben Davis. David Wood of West Lafayette serves as the director of the Boys’ Underclass Showcase.
- The 2022 IBCA/IHSAA Team Showcase in memory of Charlie Hughes is set for June 24-26 at Carmel and Westfield. Tom Beach, IBCA chief operating officer, helps coordinate the Boys’ Team Showcase.
The two boys’ events are held during weekends that have been designated as “scholastic weekends” by the NCAA on its Men’s Division I recruiting calendar.
The IBCA would like to thank the IHSAA, Ben Davis High School, Five Guys Restaurants of Indiana, McDonald's, Gatorade, Subway Restaurants, BSN Sports, IHSAA basketball officials who called the scrimmages and all the high school coaches for their support over the years in making these events successful.
