Sixty of Indiana’s best class of 2019 senior boys’ and senior girls’ high school players were invited to participate in Hoosier Basketball’s 2019 Top 60 Senior Workouts held annually in conjunction with the IHSAA and the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
The 38th annual Girls’ Top 60 Senior Workout was held at Marian University on Sunday, March 3. The 32nd annual Boys’ Top 60 Senior Workout took place at Marian University on Sunday, March 31. Both Top 60 Senior Workouts began at 1 p.m. and included two sessions – 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The two workouts were coordinated by Hoosier Basketball Magazine publisher/editor Kip Wesner. Seven-time state championship coach Rick Risinger of Heritage Christian served as on-court director of the 2019 Girls’ Top 60 Senior Workout, assisted by IBCA-member coaches. IBCA-member coaches also conducted the 2019 Boys’ Top 60 Senior Workout led by on-court director Steve Lynch of Brownsburg.
These workouts give the state’s outstanding seniors a chance to meet and compete as well as afford college coaches an opportunity to observe them against top-quality competition.
While not a tryout for the Indiana All-Star team, these events afford Indiana All-Star game director Mike Broughton and his Indiana All-Star coaches, boys and girls, the opportunity to observe the state’s best senior players against each other.
