Rick Majerus - ESPN Analyst
Success has followed Rick Majerus through every step of his coaching career. In 32 years in the profession as a head coach and an assistant coach, Majerus has been part of 734 victories, 27 post season appearances, an N.I.T. Final Four appearance, three NCAA Final Four appearances, and one National Championship.
After coaching at Marquette, the NBA Milwaukee Bucks, Ball State and Utah, Rick has become one of the most recognizable personalities in college basketball as a key analyst on ESPN. He can be seen and heard by millions during the college basketball season on national television and syndicated radio shows. He lent his expertise as an analyst to CBS during the NCAA tournament coverage in 1999 and also worked the Final Four.
Rick is in high demand as a speaker at conferences and coaching clinics across the country. He also hosted his own basketball camp at the University of Utah. An average of more than 2000 kids from grades 1 - 12 attended the camp on a yearly basis. Rick will be talking about his 4 out 1 in motion offense.
Don Meyer - Northern State University
Coach Meyer last spoke at the IBCA Clinic in 1999. Since then he has moved to fifth on the all time wins list with 855 victories during a 35 year coaching career. This ranks him right behind well known Hall of Fame coaches Adolph Rupp, Dean Smith and Bob Knight.
Meyer coached teams have won 20 or more games 25 times during his 35 year coaching career. This included an NAIA National Championship while coaching at David Lipscomb University in Nashville Tennessee.
Coach Meyer is respected nationally as one of the great teachers of the game. In nine years well over 10,000 coaches from all over the nation have attended the Don Meyer Coaches' Academy. Featured speakers at the Academy reads as a who's who of outstanding coaches from Pat Summit to John Wooden.
Coach Meyer also produces instructional books and a 30-tape series "Building a Championship Program" that has helped coaches at every level from high school to the NBA. He has also given motivational speeches throughout the country and has published numerous articles for many coaching publications. Coach Meyer will speak about "The Best Things I Have Seen in Basketball".
Steve Ridder - Embry Riddle University
Coach Ridder has posted 20 win seasons in 13 of his 17 years at Embry Riddle University an average of 25 wins a season since 1991. During the 1999-2000 season, the Eagles reached the NAIA Pinnacle claiming the program's first National Championship. The Eagles followed up that season with the program's best ever record (32-4) and were ranked #1 in the nation from wire to wire.
Under Ridder's guidance the Eagles qualified for the NAIA National Tournament nine times, including six in a row from 1996-2001. Last season the Eagles made it back to the National Championship for the second consecutive year posting the best winning percentage in school history, (91%) 31-3.
Coach Ridder has brought excitement, exposure, and national recognition to Embry Riddle University. He has received numerous coach of the year awards including NAIA National Coach of Year in 2000. During his 17 years at Embry Riddle, Ridder's record is 372-161 (70%). Coach Ridder will speak about "Building a Special Program".
Sharon Versyp - Purdue University
Coach Versyp is a 1989 graduate of Purdue and returns to her Alma Mater after one season as the head coach at Indiana University. She led the Hoosiers to a 19-14 record and a 9-7 Big Ten record during the 2005-2006 season.
Before coming to IU, Coach Versyp was the head coach at Maine from 2000 to 2005. She posted a 98-51 record while leading the Black Bears to back-to-back-to-back American East regular season championships in her last three seasons. In recognition of her efforts Versyp was named America East Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2005.
Before entering the collegiate ranks, Versyp coached high school basketball at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis from 1989-1993. She then coached at Benton Central from 1993 to 1996.
As a high school player at Mishawaka High School, Versyp was named the 1984 Indiana Miss Basketball. She went on to have an outstanding career at Purdue University where she is still listed in the top ten of numerous statistical categories.
Coach Versyp and her staff has led the Boilermakers to a 23-5 regular season record and a #13 national ranking. The Boilermakers were the 2007 Big Ten Tournament Champions. In six seasons as a head coach, Versyp owns a 120-65 overall record.
