District 1
Patti McCormack, Athletic Director, Lowell
Patti McCormack has been in education for 37 years, serving as athletic director at Lowell High School since 2010 after working 30 years as a teacher, coach and assistant athletic director.
She has been on the IHSAA Board of Directors since 2013 and currently chairs its Student Advisory Committee. She also is a member of the Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, the National Intercollegiate Athletic Administrators Association and was the IIAAA Athletic Director of the Year in 2015.
McCormack is a 1976 graduate of Green High School in Uniontown, Ohio. She matriculated to Indiana University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education in 1980. She later earned a master’s degree in education/athletic administration from Purdue University in 1992.
McCormack began her coaching career while an IU undergrad as a girls basketball assistant coach at Bloomington South from 1978-80. She was a teacher and boys basketball coach from 1980-83 at Cornell High School in Illinois, then became a teacher and girls basketball coach at Carroll (Flora) in Indiana from 1983-90.
She moved to Ball State as an assistant women’s basketball coach for two seasons, then relocated to Lowell in 1992 where she served as a teacher and girls basketball coach for 18 seasons. During that span, she also became the schools’ assistant athletic director, then was promoted to athletic director in 2010.
In 25 seasons as a varsity girls basketball coach, McCormack’s teams won more than 275 games and captured eight sectional, two regional and seven conference championships. She was voted a Coach of the Year on 10 occasions, was a coach in the Indiana East-West All-Star Game, served as a floor coach for the Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 40 Senior Workout and as a floor coach for the USA Basketball Olympic Trials.
Among numerous projects as athletic director at Lowell, McCormack initiated and developed a Leadership Summit for student-athletes in the Northwest Crossroads and Duneland Athletic conferences. She became a Certified Athletic Administrator in 2013 and earned her CMAA in 2014.
District 2
Chuck Weisenbach, Principal, Roncalli
Chuck Weisenbach is completing his 23rd year as principal at Roncalli High School and his 34th year on staff at the Indianapolis Southside parochial Catholic school.
During Weisenbach’s time as principal, Roncalli three times has been recognized by the United States Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. He currently serves on the Indiana Department of Education’s IHSAA Case Review Panel and also is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association, the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Indiana Non-Public Education Association, and the Archdiocesan Principals Association. Last fall, he was appointed by then-Gov. Mike Pence to the ISTEP Review Panel.
A 1979 graduate of Roncalli, Weisenbach played four years of basketball and three years of baseball for the Rebels. He then attended Butler University, where he served as the radio voice and the school’s sports information director for two years.
After college, Weisenbach returned to Roncalli as a teacher and coach. He was a Rebels’ assistant basketball coach from 1985-89, then compiled a 60-61 record as the Roncalli varsity coach from 1989-94 while simultaneously working as the school’s assistant principal. His last Roncalli team was the Indianapolis City Tournament champion, and he was named Indianapolis City Coach of the Year in 1994.
Weisenbach became the Roncalli principal that fall and the school has been recognized for numerous accolades during his tenure. He is a recipient of the National Catholic Education Association Distinguished Graduate Award, received the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Indiana Non-Public Education Association in 2014 and was named Archdiocese of Indianapolis Administrator of the Year in 2016.
He served on the board of the INPEA for 10 years, including two years as president.
Weisenbach and his wife, Jane, are parents of three adult children – all graduates of Roncalli and Purdue.
District 3
Ron McBride, Athletic Director, Bloomfield
Ron McBride has been a teacher, coach or administrator for Bloomfield High School for 46 years.
He has served as athletic director since 2009, following a 16-year tenure as varsity basketball coach where his teams went 228-154 with seven sectional titles, three regional crowns and a Class A semistate title in 1998. He previously was the school’s athletic director in 1992-93.
McBride is a 1967 graduate of Shakamak High School, where he competed in basketball, baseball and cross country. He matriculated to Indiana University, where he played baseball and graduated in 1971.
After college, McBride accepted a teaching and coaching position at Bloomfield. He served as a teacher and boys basketball assistant coach from 1971-92. He was the school’s athletic director in 1992-93, then was the varsity boys basketball coach form 1993-2009. He has been athletic director again from 2009 to the present.
As varsity coach, McBride was named Greene County Coach of the Year in 1994 and 1995. He served as an instructor for the “Yes Clinic” held in conjunction with the NCAA Final Four in 2006 and 2007.
McBride and his wife, Shelia, have two adult children and four grandchildren.
