Forty of Indiana’s best senior boys’ and 40 of Indiana’s best senior girls’ high school basketball players will be invited to participate in Hoosier Basketball’s 2006 Top 40 Workouts. Ten alternates will also be invited to participate in each workout.
The 25th annual Girls’ Top 40 Workout will be at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis on March 12, 2006.
The 19th annual Boys’ Top 40 Workout will take place at Pike High School in Indianapolis on Sunday, April 30.
Both Top 40 Workouts will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will include two sessions – 1:00–3:00 p.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.
The two workouts are coordinated by Hoosier Basketball publisher Garry Donna. Mike Armstrong of Perry Meridian and Jodie Whitaker of Lawrence North will serve as on-court directors of the 2—6 Girls’ Top 40 Workout, assisted by IBCA-member coaches representing all of Indiana. Brebeuf Jesuit coach Leo Klemm, assisted by IBCA-member coaches, will be the Boys’ Top 40 on-court director.
The three-fold purpose of both of these workouts is—1) to give the state’s best seniors a chance to meet and compete, 2) to give college coaches an opportunity to observe these players in top quality competition, and 3) to give the Indiana-Kentucky All-Star game director and coaches a chance to evaluate players who received prior votes in the Indianapolis Star’s 2006 All-Star balloting.
Note that these Top 40 Workouts, both girls and boys, are for the Indianapolis Star’s game director’s and All-Star coaches’ personal evaluation purposes only and are not official try outs for the 2006 Indiana All-Star teams.
