Jack Edison
District I: Plymouth
Coach Edison was also recognized as IBCA District 1 Coach of the Year in 1982 and 1998. He has been the varsity basketball coach at Plymouth High School for the past 33 years. During that time Plymouth has won 17 Sectionals, 7 Regionals, 2 Semi-States, 1 State Championship (1982) and 3A State Runner-Up in 2005.
Coach Edison, has won numerous Coach Of The Year awards during his career. He served as the Indiana All Star Coach in ihe two game series with Kentucky and was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall Of Fame in 2005.
In yhe 90’s Coach Edison had the top winning percentage in the state (207-46) 82%. Going into this season his overall record as Coach of the Pilgrims is 513-248.

Steve Johnson
District I: Elkhart Memorial
Coach Johnson has 22 years of head coaching experience. He has also been the head man at Batesville and Concord. He has experience as a Division I Assistant Coach at Valparaiso University. During his tenure at Elkhart Memorial the Chargers have won 2 Northern Lakes Conference Championships, and 3 Northern Indiana conference championships.
Coach Johnson has won numerous Northern Indiana coach of the year Awards. The Chargers are 18-2 going into tournament play and have been ranked in the IBCA Coaches' Poll all season. Coach, congratulations on a successful season!
Jack Keefer
District II: Lawrence North
Coach Keefer is the only Varsity Basketball Coach Lawrence North has ever had. During his 30 years at Lawrence North, the Wildcats have won 4 Marion County Tournaments, 13 sectionals, 5 regionals, and three State Championships (1989, 2003, 2004). The wildcats have won six of the last nine MIC Conference Championships.
During his career Coach Keefer has won numerous Coach of the Year Awards. He was the Indiana All Star coach for the two game series with Kentucky and served as the coach of the winning East team in the 2005 McDonalds' All American Classic.
Last season the wildcats presented Coach Keefer with his 550th career victory. Only 15 Indiana High School coaches have won that many games. At the start of this season (his 34th overall) Coach Keefer had a 555-227 record. Congratulations Coach, you have had an outstanding career!
David Wood
District II: West Lafayette
Coach Wood is a graduate of Pike High School and the University of Indianapolis. He has coached on the collegiate level at the University of Toledo, University of Indianapolis, and Purdue University where he was a part of two Big Ten Championships. On the high school level he was an Assistant at Lafayette Jefferson and Pike before becoming the Head Coach at West Lafayette. His teams have won 2 sectionals and 2 Conference Championships. At press time the Red Devils are 15-4. Coach, you have had an outstanding season.
Jeff Hein
District III: Evansville Bosse
The Bulldogs currently own an 18-1 record, are ranked #1 in the 3A AP poll and re currently ranked 8th in the IBCA Coaches Poll. This season the Bulldogs have won the Bosse Invitational Tournament, the Old National SIAC Tournament, and the Evansville City and the SIAC regular season championships. This is Coach Hein’s 12th season as a varsity coach. He has coaches at Washington Catholic, North Central (Farmersburg), Boonville, and is in his first season at Evansville Bosse. In six years at his previous stop in Boonville, his teams had an 81-50 record and won two Big 8 conference titles. At the age of 35 he has compiled 134 wins as a varsity coach. Great job Jeff!
Harry Larrabee
District III: Shelbyville
Coach Larrabee is in his 6th year as basketball coach at Shelbyville High School. Before coming to Shelbyville he coached collegiately at the University of Alaska Anchorage and Texas State University. He was instrumental in establishing the continued growth of the Great Alaska Shoot out and was selected by Basketball Times Division II Coach of the Year. Coach Larrabee is a 1970 Indiana All Star from Shelbyville. During his tenure at Shelbyville, he has led the Golden Bears to 3 Hoosier Heritage Conference Championships and one sectional title. As this newsletter goes, to press the Golden Bears are 18-0. Congratulations Coach!
