Garry Nallenweg

Athletic Director - Chesterton High School

Garry NallenwegGarry earned his BS and MS Degrees from Indiana University. He coached basketball at the middle school to the Varsity Assistant level from 1978-1994. From 1986-1993 he was Varsity Track and Field Coach. His teams were 115-14 during his tenure and won two Duneland Conference Championships and 4 sectional championships. He was named District I Coach of the Year in 1989 and 1993. From 1995-2000 he was an Assistant Principal and for the past nine years he has served as Athletic Director at Chesterton High School. Garry, thanks for all you do for high school basketball.


Kevin Horrigan

Athletic Director - Greenfield Central High School

Kevin HorriganKevin has had a long and distinguished career as an educator. He has taught elementary, junior high and high school social studies and he has coached multiple sports. He has been a Department Chair, Assistant Principal, Principal and Athletic Director at Brebuef, Lawrence Central and Greenfield Central high schools. Kevin is a member of numerous organizations and is a leader in his profession. For many years during the 1990’s, Kevin hosted the boys' basketball sectional, regional and semi-state at Hinkle Fieldhouse including the last sold out high school basketball game at Hinkle Fieldhouse. It was the 1995 regional game between Ben Davis and Indianapolis Washington. From 1993 to the present, Kevin has been the Tournament Director for the IHSAA boys' State Basketball Championship. He has also served in leadership roles during the Pan Am games, Olympic Track and Field trials and the NCAA Final Four just to mention a few. He has received many awards during his career. In 2006 he was one of six finalists from across the United States for the National Council of Secondary School National Athletic Director of the Year Award. Kevin, thanks for all you have done for high school basketball during your career.


Phil Waddell

Athletic Director - Hamilton Heights High School

Phil WaddellFor the past eleven years Phil has been the Athletic Director at Hamilton Heights High School. Before entering athletic administration he coached eleven seasons at Tipton High School, three years at Centerville High School, four years at Southmont High School and at West Leyden High School in Illinois. He has earned Coach of the Year honors from the Journal Review in 1977-78, Conference Coach of the Year 1976, 1981 and in 1992 IBCA District 3 Coach of the Year. In 1978 he had an article published in Basketball Clinic “Building a Total Program” and in 1992 he was the North/South All Star Coach. Phil, the IBCA thanks you for your contributions to Indiana High School Basketball.


Gary Cook

Principal - North Decatur High School

Gary CookGary began his teaching and coaching career at Danville High School in 1975. In 1984 he moved to Eastern Greene High School. In 1986 he led the Thunderbirds to the Southwest Indiana Athletic Conference championship and he was selected SWIAC Coach of the Year. In 1987 he moved to North Decatur High School and during a 16 year career led the Chargers to three Mid Hoosier Conference Championships, one Greensburg Sectional Championship and was selected MHC Coach of the Year in 1994 and 2000. In 1999 he became Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at North Decatur and since 2003 he has been the Principal. Gary served on the IBCA Board from 1994-96 and continues to be active in basketball by coaching eighth grade AAU and scouting games at the High School level. Gary, the IBCA thanks you for your contributions to high school basketball.
