Coaches will again have the opportunity to nominate players for the Best of Indiana feature, which was launched last spring to bring to the attention of college coaches outstanding basketball players in the State of Indiana. Last year this special section in the Indiana Basketball Coaches ‘website had 52 players’ names submitted along with a description of each players’ stats, testimonials and other crucial and timely information. To access the information go to IBCAcoaches.com website.
This service, Best of Indiana, is provided to all IBCA members. There are two options. Plan A is free and offers to list your player with a 75 word report on his or her skills and stats—information that would be crucial and important to a college coach checking out Best of Indiana looking for recruits.
The Expanded version of Best of Indiana offers up to 150 words of description plus the option of providing a color action or still photo of the candidate. The fee for this service is $50 this year, down $25 from last year’s introductory offer. All income is used for IBCA programs and projects.
All names and information currently on the Best of Indiana website will be removed as of October 1 unless the respective coach wishes to continue it. The coach must contact Pat Aikman prior to Oct. 1 to continue exposure on Best of Indiana. New entries for 2008-09 may be sent via e-mail to Patrick Aikman, 1075 Sedona Pass, Indianapolis, IN 46280 or e-mailed to Pat at jpatrick1935@aol.com. Submitted information will be posted as quickly as possible, usually in 24-48 hours.
Information submitted for players should include name, school, coach’s name and a contact phone number or an e-mail address. Also include pertinent stats, positions played, references to outstanding games, player’s height and weight, and year of anticipated graduation. Only coaches may submit information on players.
Best of Indiana is geared to assist college and jr. college coaches in determining the likely value of these players to their programs. Information posted to the IBCA’s Special Projects Director Patrick Aikman should be accurate, honest, and verifiable to be useful to those coaches recruiting for their college teams. We would suggest going to the website, IBCAcoaches.com and clicking on BEST of Indiana to familiarize oneself with the kind of information commonly submitted about players.
Information added to the site will remain available to visitors through Sept 1, 2010. For more information about this service call or write to Patrick Aikman, (317) 569-8096 or e-mail him at jpatrick1935@aol.com.
Best of Indiana is sponsored for the IBCA by Raymond James and Associates, a financial planning organization which has offices throughout the USA and especially in Indianapolis.
