Hoosier Basketball Celebration
It’s Our Game

Presented by the Indiana Pacers and Conseco
Supported by NBA, WNBA, USA Basketball, NCAA, NFHS, IHSAA, Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, and Indiana Sports Corporation

Concept Mission:

To create an inclusive community event, featuring the Indiana Pacers, that celebrates the tradition and history of Indiana basketball, and includes participation of all who embrace the sport at any level throughout the state.

Goals:

  • Involve the community, at all ages, in a program that radiates affirmative attitude toward the Pacer program, and basketball as a positive-influence sport.
  • Encourage family involvement.
  • Highlight Pacers tradition and history.
  • Highlight the positive lessons and values gained from involvement in the sport of basketball.
  • Allow community to meet the players and build loyalty.
  • Garner favorable media coverage for the Pacers, and others involved in the sport.

Event Summary:

Date: Sunday, October 28

Event Highlights include:

  • Outreach to age-group, high school and college coaches and players, cheerleaders, bands, mascots, officials and fans of all ages will be the key component to this celebration of basketball.
  • A basketball dribble from Monument Circle to Conseco Fieldhouse, including 5000 registrants of all ages from across the state of Indiana, who will set a Guinness World Record, highlighting Indiana as a “basketball state”.
  • Words of wisdom from basketball greats such as Larry Bird and John Wooden, and Pacers Coach Jim O’Brien, as well as an opportunity to meet the Pacers team members.
  • Player, fan and celebrity skill challenges, entertainment throughout the event, and the opportunity for fans to shoot on the Conseco Fieldhouse basketball court.

2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Registration for Dribble Monument Circle
3:00 pm – 3:45 pm Crowd Entertainment
Former Pacers interact with Dribblers
High School bands/cheer squads perform
Mascot interacts with Dribblers
Short Concert
Monument Circle
3:30 pm Doors open to non-Dribblers Conseco Fieldhouse
3:45 pm – 4:00 pm Introductions and Dribble begins


Introduce Pacers & Fever teams
Motivational words to begin dribble
Lead Car with Celebrity kicks off dribble
Monument Circle
4:00 pm – 4:45 pm Dribble Parade occurs Monument Circle to Conseco Fieldhouse
5:00 pm – 5:30 pm Concert or Band Entertainment
